"What is Scratchboard?"

That is usually the very first question people ask me. Scratchboard is a support that can be purchased as a board with a thin layer of white clay (Claybord). You then add a layer of ink and start scratching out your design. Or you can purchase it with an initial layer of black ink (Scratchbord) and scratch your design through the ink exposing the clay beneath. If you wish to add color, it can be done in many different ways with just about any transparent medium.
I have been doing scratchboard art for about 4 years. I started with acrylics and wanted something that would give me the fine detail that I needed to match what I envisioned. I hope you think I have achieved that.
